I have always been captivated by why people do what they do. As I grew, I struggled with several undiagnosed mental illnesses, which fueled my curiosity about the human experience. This suffering gave me insight into human behavior and my own emotional world. I saw the power of this wisdom and how it could be used to both help and hurt people. Upon witnessing the magic of counseling, I saw purpose in kindling others’ inclinations towards healing and discovering themselves. As I continue to live and grow, I hope to join others on their own journeys toward bettering themselves.

Throughout my career, I’ve had many rich experiences exposing me to a wide variety of various facets of mental illness such as in my agency work providing counseling and skill building for low SES adolescents and parents in their homes and at an alternative education high school, working with college students to tackle issues of substance abuse, and at a state psychiatric hospital administering group psychoeducation to those with chronic and severe mental illnesses and legal histories.
I received a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and an Educational Specialist degree from James Madison University. During my time there I worked at the university clinic providing individual counseling via telehealth and in person and at a remote site in the rural setting of Luray, VA where I was awarded the RISE-UP Grant for my work.
